Chapter 16 Excerpt

Celebrate
What happens at Christmas, Halloween and Valentines; what doesn't happen at Thanksgiving, July 4th and Labor Day. Although Christmas and Halloween are basically the same in both countries, you may want the skinny on the subtle differences, so that you won't feel too much of an outsider. Come the American holidays however, you really will be left to your own devices, as they simply aren't celebrated over there, so bring your own decorations. And who's this Guy Fawkes bloke anyway?
"April Fool's Day (April 1st) is absolutely huge in the UK. Pretty much every year there will be a national joke played by a television channel, radio station, or national newspaper proclaiming anything from haggis growing on trees, to an imminent landing from outer space. Someone you know will either be the prankster or the victim, on April Fool's Day. Please note however, that it all has to end at noon, or you'll look like the fool!"
