Chapter 21 Excerpt

Naughty Bits
Since many Americans claim not to understand the British sense of humor I felt the need to explain some aspects of British humor, to aid communication and to help some of the jokes translate more effectively. Also, there are a lot more female impersonators and extremely "camp" comedians on national television who are beloved by the nation - another source of confusion to Americans.
"Since my husband regularly refers to "that British sense of humor", I'll allow that it is different from the American, and often quite baffling to foreigners. Apart from the heavy-handed sarcasm that often confuses Americans, the Brits love their double entendres and will never pass up the chance to take the conversation down the avenue of sexual innuendo. "As the actress said to the bishop" is often added whenever something slightly suggestive is mentioned."
